This nailer came with a 6 piece set cast about $150.00. I did not have a use for it for 2 years and got to run s sleeve of nails through and it broke and the part to fix it costs as much as the 12 volt nailer.I will not buy it. I did like it as long as it lasted. I have all 18 volt tools and will not get a 12 volt system to replace it.
This is assuming you get a "good" unit. They couldn't even repair it. I would estimate a life of between 1000-2000 firings before it breaks. It fails either by jamming every other nail or the spring retraction mechanism malfunctions. I wrote a review for the 12V very similar unit. This is a disposable tool. Its a shame how these Chinese tools are expensive, low quality, and virtually disposable. This tool cost almost $200 when I bought it, but the good point is the company had no problem refunding my money when it broke. I had a bunch of them and they all went back due to issues.I'm giving it 2 stars because they should tell people it is for occasional use and its not a good fit for the price.
I also treated it well and it was never dropped. Maybe a chair rail. This product has great potential, but is very light duty. I wanted to keep the tool. Most will never use it this much, so they may get away with it.If you have to do flooring and and need to pull up the baseboards and then reattach, this will probably do the trick. Beyond that understand that this tool will probably fail. After 1200 nails the tool looked new.Forget repairing it, after the warranty, the assembly cost over $100 [.].(entire guts gets changed), and no warranty if you DIY. They probably cost next to nothing to make, and they figure many will just use it a few times and never have an issue.
It loads easily, doesn't fire too loudly (it wasn't loud at all especially compared to nail guns powered by an air compressor), and it doesn't leave a mark on the wood surface other than the small hole where the nail passed thru. I just got this nailer, and now I don't know how I did without it. This nailer obviously wasn't designed for major framing type jobs, but for trimming jobs it's perfect. It's not available on Amazon at this time, so I had to get it on a well known auction website. This nailer works great for my around the house trim upgrading projects (of which I have many). I can't wait to start my next project just so I can use this gun more. It's sweeeeeeeeeeet.
I love tools that work and this nail gun works like a charm. Not too heavy and seems to have all the power it needs.
I love the whole black and decker firestorm line. they are great. Lowes stoped carrying them. i dont know of any other place you can still get them exept Amazon.com
